Maria Kaprili’s journey as a jewelry designer began with a spark of passion in her childhood, creating intricate pieces from her imagination. Growing up in Thessaloniki, her love for jewelry led her to study at the Mokume Silversmith and Jewelry Design School. From there, her quest for excellence inspired her to explore the world, beginning in London, where she developed her expertise in Gemology and Diamontology at the Gemological Association of Great Britain as well as trained in Antique Jewelry at Sotheby’s.
After completing her studies, Maria returned to Thessaloniki to teach at the very school where her journey had begun. This experience developed her as a designer and teacher, eager to share her knowledge and passion. As her career flourished, she began creating and producing bespoke fine jewelry, creating one-of-a-kind pieces for clients across Europe.
Her brand, MARIA KAPRILI, was born out of a desire to combine her technical expertise with her charismatic, contemporary style. Her first collection reflected her love for bold contrasts—modern bohemian chic amulets, either oversized or minimal, adorned with vibrant, multicolored stones and luminous metals. These unique elements have since become a hallmark of her brand, evolving with each new collection.
Maria’s flagship store in Kolonaki, Athens, is where it all comes to life. Her atelier and design studio are within the shop, offering the customers to see firsthand the artistry and craftsmanship that go into each piece. For Maria, every design is deeply personal, reflecting not only her skills but the cultural influences she gathers from her travels around the world. Her love for exploring different cultures is intertwined with her jewelry, making each piece a fusion of experiences and inspirations.
